Biography
Nurse Nicole is thrilled to return to Ionian Village for the Summer of 2024! She hails from the Northeast and grew up in MA in the St. Athanasius Parish. She is also very involved with the Metropolis of Boston Camp and has been fortunate enough to spend many summers there as a camper, staff member and medical staff. Nicole loves making music, long walks on Glyfa Beach and believes laughter is the best medicine. She is ready for another summer of trading in her hospital scrubs for IV polos and monastery skirts. You can find her bee-bopping around with her first aide backpack in hand ready to take on all the adventures of IV2024!

Biography
Marika Georgopalis was born and raised on long island, New York. She spends her days hanging out with her friends and family, and spends her nights at the hospital working as a nurse. She loves to travel and see new places. She couldn’t be more excited to be back at Ionian Village this summer.

Biography
Haralambos is excited to join the team this summer for the first time. Practicing in the fields of Sports Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, and urgent care, he will be leaving Cleveland this summer to join the adventures of IV. He will be joined by his wife and two young boys (5 and 3), who can be found running around the campsite and beach.
Outside of work, he has fascination for sports, technology, automobiles, and aviation. He enjoys cycling with the boys, coaching soccer, building computers, tuning cars, and flying single engine aircraft.

Biography
As the wellness coordinator for Ionian Village (session one) Hope brings experience and passion for supporting mental health. Having attended Ionian Village as a camper before college and later served as a counselor during her college years, Hope is thrilled to return to camp in a new capacity, supporting campers and staff members!
In her professional life, Hope serves as a full-time school counselor, where she has had the privilege of counseling students across a wide age range, from elementary age through college. She is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University! She is married to her wonderful husband John, and blessed with three almost grown children - Luke (23), Sophia (20), and Charlie (17) - along with their beloved dog Ginger. Hope's youngest son, Charlie, prepares to attend Ionian Village as a camper for session one. Together, they are looking forward to making new memories at camp.

Biography
Carol is a certified nurse practitioner who has her doctorate in nursing practice. Carol is a Greek Dance Freak! She has been directing the Greek dance program at St. Katherine GOC in Arizona for more years than she cares to share. Camp nursing has been a consistent summer activity since 2005. She was camp nurse at All Saints Camp in Az and this will be her 5th session as medical staff at Ionian Village. Carol feels there is no better way to teach young people about their faith and culture than to participate in summer camps. Carol is married and is the mother of three adult children. If you’re looking for Carol at camp, she’ll be on the sidelines of every event watching and waiting in case she is needed.

Biography
Leah feels beyond blessed and excited to be joining the IV 2024 Staff this summer! She currently lives in Charleston, SC, where she works as a neonatal ICU nurse and loves every second of it. Some of her favorite things are walks with her family dog, Jasper, facetiming with her sweet nephews, and trying new restaurants. Quality time with the people she loves plays a big role in how she fills her cup, so she looks forward the connections that will be built during IV 2024. She is so hopeful for the growth and beauty that the summer will bring and cannot wait to begin!

Biography
Marissa is no stranger to Ionian Village as she is back for her 7th summer! She loves IV and the impact this ministry has on campers and staff. Each experience at IV has been unique and eye opening as she has seen IV through many different lenses: as a camper in 2013, a staff member in 2016 and as a member of the admin team in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023 as the wellness coordinator. For the past six years Marissa has worked as a school social worker at an elementary school in Chicago. One of the many perks of her job is having summers off and being able to come back to Ionian Village! Marissa is known as the “energizer bunny” around camp as she has endless amounts of energy and can be found awake all hours of the night. She enjoys ferry rides, showing campers her favorite monasteries & jewelry shops, and can frequently be found with gyros in hand! She is looking forward to seeing you this summer!
