Ionian Village is fortunate to have an on-site staff maintaining our camp grounds throughout the year. While Ionian Village is in session, they help the camp run smoothly by maintaining the grounds and dishing up delicious, traditional Greek food. Every camper and staff member who has met Kyria Sophia (our devoted cook) and her family and crew, holds a special place in their heart for their loving hospitality.

Kyria Sophia has been the head chef at Ionian Village since 1995. Kyria Sophia has always been involved in the Ionian Village program, serving many years as the "gatekeeper" when she was raising her children, George, Kiki, and Vangelo. In 1995, she took over duties as Head Chef from Kyrio Giorgo. Her food was met with instantaneous rave reviews! Kyria Sophia works hard to provide the campers and staff not only with delicious homeade Greek food, but with the finest products and ingredients. She spends much time visiting the local villiagers and farmers to get only the best organic ingredients for the camp. Everything that is served at the camp comes from within the local "county." She oversees a staff of five people who help prepare and serve the food, as well as keep both the "Trap" and kitchen spotless at all times. Kyria Sophia's specialties are her delectable pastichio, and of course, her traditional loukoumades every Sunday after the Divine Liturgy.

George Nastoulis, Head Groundskeeper
George has been involved in the Ionian Village program since he was born! His entire life, George has been a part of preparing the campground for every summer. During the summer months, George and his whole family would stay in the Groundskeepers house at the front gate of the camp, tending to every need that the camp had. In 2006, George took over duties as Head Groundskeeper from his father, Christoforo. George and his dedicated team of three men take care of everything at camp, including the planting and maintenance of all landscaping, the painting of every cabin (inside and out) every summer, as well as all other general maintenance for the camp. In addition, throughout the rest of the year, George assists by helping to oversee the continuing renovations to improve the Ionian Village campus.
