The Program
Ionian Village offers a very unique summer camp experience. In addition to participating in a typical summer camp program, campers will be exposed to the Orthodox faith and learn about Hellenic culture and the country of Greece through excursions.
The Orthodox faith is at the heart of the Ionian Village program. Each day begins and ends at the chapel with morning and evening prayers. Furthermore, IV participants experience life and its priorities in an Orthodox country, as they travel to churches and monasteries, and mingle with the Orthodox Christians of Greece.
During their stay at the Ionian Village, campers make excursions about every other day to religious and cultural sites of Greece.
A patron saint is a saint who is regarded as the intercessor and advocate in heaven of a nation, place, craft, activity, class, or person. At Ionian Village, there are several saints who are deeply connected and are special to the camp and its alumni.
Ionian Village offers two fun-filled sessions. Each session will have the same basic daily schedule and visit most of the same locations, so our campers may choose the session that best fits their summer plans and school schedule.
Ionian Village and the Archdiocesan Center for Family Care are pleased to announce their collaboration on the first Ionian Village Family Camp (IVFC). Click "Learn More" to find out details!
