Welcome Message from the Director

On behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, I would like to welcome you to the Ionian Village website!

For 40 years, approximately 300 young people gather at Ionian Village every summer.  Most arrive with hesitation and uncertainty not knowing what to expect.  Immediately, campers who begin as strangers are surrounded with the love of Christ.  In a matter of a few days the transformation begins - campers begin to let their guard down and open their hearts to Christ and Orthodoxy.  By the end of the summer, campers and staff members learn to live in their faith and build a bond that will last throughout their entire life.

If you are new to the IV experience, please visit "The Program" tab on our site to learn about our unique camping experience.  If you are one of our 16,000 alumni, browse through the "Get Involved" page or view old photos in our archives.  In the near future please check back for our Alumni e-Newsletter.  When your child is in session this summer you'll be able to travel with us through Greece by following our blog in the "e-Travel" section.

I hope you will consider participating in the Ionian Village experience attending as a camper, serving as a staff member, or offering a donation in support of the program.  It promises to be a life-changing experience.
