Our Vision

The vision began by Archbishop Iakovos in the 1960’s and is strengthened and renewed by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios today. Ionian Village aims to enrich the lives of its participants with a living, vibrant experience of Greek Orthodox Christianity and a rich, textured immersion into their Greek heritage, culture and language.

The program serves the Greek-American community and the Nation of Greece in its aim to bond the youth of America to Greece fostering within them a life-long appreciation of Greece, Orthodoxy, and Hellenism. The vision of Ionian Village is to present young adults with all aspects of the Orthodox faith and Hellenism through total immersion by traveling through Greece, venerating relics of saints, walking in the footsteps of the Apostles and visiting significant sites of Greek history and culture.
